This postcard came from Russia from
Gyuzel. It shows the Russian witch
Baba Yaga and her hut on chicken legs. She is part of many folktales and fairytales. Here it's the fairytale "
The Magic Swan Geese" (of which I'd never heard before).
The card reminded me of an old record (really!) I owned as a child. It was a children's version of
Mussorgsky's
Pictures at an Exhibition. Each picture was described and explained as if you were really moving through an exhibition and then you listened to the music. It was a great.
