Why are there so many songs about rainbows
and what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, they're only illusions
and rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some chose to believe it.
But I know they're wrong wait and see.

Somebody thought of that and someone believed it:

Ich fand den Song auf Sarah McLachlans Compilation "Rarities, B-Sides and Other Stuff 2" (2008) wieder, in einer Version, die ich noch nicht kannte. Nebenbei gesagt versöhnt mich der Kauf der Scheibe auch wieder ein bisschen mit ihr, nach "Wintersong" (grusel) und "Closer" (muss das?) endlich wieder ein bisschen Stimme und echte Musik und kein Fahrstuhlmusikeinheitssamplebrei.

Ich sah nach dem Text von Rainbow Connection und fand heraus, dass es ein Muppet-Song ist, geschrieben von Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher und in der Ursprungsversion gesungen von Kermit the Frog (= Jim Henson) in "The Muppet Movie" 1979 (!). Irgendwie hübsch, wenn man bedenkt, wie oft der Song inzwischen gecovert wurde.
