My absolute favourite as a child. It is illustrated by the auhor himself and I pracitcally lived in those beautiful pictures of the mole digging through the earth forming his nice caves and channels.
I was scared with him when he has to endure the distruction of his home by a building side and happy when he finally found a new home.
My edition is from 1972 by Diogenes Zürich.
