Lisa from Illinois, USA, sent me this card showing an illustration by Jessie Willcox Smith. She lived from 1863 to 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She worked for magazines and illustrated children's book. This illustration is from 1912 and from Dickens' Children.
Among her many illustrations she is known for her pictures for Charles Kingsley's The Water-Babies (1916). She also illustrated Twas the Night Before Christmas. A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement C. Moore which you can find as a full version on gutenberg.org including her pictures.
There are some more of her paintings on wikimedia commons.
